Agreeing to these terms

These terms apply when you play Bean Baron on beanbaron.app or in the Bean Baron apps. By playing, you agree to them and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't play.

Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age where you live) to play. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you, including any purchase.

Your account

You can play as a guest, but a guest game lives on one device and can be lost. Save your progress to keep it. Keep your sign-in email secure: you're responsible for what happens in your account. One account per person.

Player and business names

Your player name appears on the public leaderboard. Names must not be offensive, hateful, sexual, impersonate someone else or include personal information. We may change or remove any name that breaks this rule.

Coins, shares, collectibles and Gold Beans

Everything in the game, including coins, beans, businesses, shares, collectibles, boosts and Gold Beans, is virtual. It has no real-world value, can't be exchanged for money or anything outside the game, and can't be sold or transferred to other people. You get a personal, revocable licence to use it in the game; you don't own it.

The Bean Exchange and the collectibles market are fictional. Prices are made up by the game, nothing in them is financial advice, and they say nothing about real companies or markets.

We regularly rebalance the game. Prices, production, boosts and other values may change, and that can change the value of what you have in the game.

Early access

Bean Baron is in beta. Features, balance and prices are still changing, and some things you see may be marked "Soon" until they're built. We only sell items that work in the game when you buy them.

Purchases and Gold Beans

You can buy Gold Beans, the game's premium currency, with real money, and spend them in the game on boosters and other items. Prices are shown before you buy, including any tax where it applies. On the web, payment is handled by Stripe; in the iOS and Android apps, by Apple or Google under their terms, prices and currencies.

Gold Beans and anything bought with them have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money and can't be sold or transferred to another player. Gold Beans never expire while your account is open.

Boosters are timed. A booster starts when you use it and runs in real time until its timer ends, including while you're away; it can't be paused. Gold Beans and running boosters stay with your account through Reset save and when we rebalance the game. If we remove an item you paid for before you could use it, we'll give you back the Gold Beans you spent on it.

Purchases are delivered to your account right away. When you buy, you ask us to deliver them immediately and agree that, once delivered, you lose any right to cancel that the law gives you for digital content (such as the 14-day right in the EU and UK), except where the law says otherwise. If something you bought doesn't arrive or doesn't work, tell us through Help & support and we'll fix it or refund it. Refunds for app-store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.

If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission before buying anything.

Play fair

Don't:

• use cheats, bots, scripts, auto-clickers or modified versions of the game;
• exploit bugs instead of reporting them through Help & support;
• use several accounts to boost your ranking or someone else's;
• attack, overload or try to get into our servers or other players' accounts.

If you do, we may reset your progress, remove you from the leaderboard, or suspend or close your account.

Changes and availability

We're always improving Bean Baron, so features can change, be added or be removed, and the game may sometimes be unavailable. We may stop offering the game; if we do, we'll give reasonable notice in the game. If we change these terms, we'll update the date above and tell you in the game about important changes. Playing after a change means you accept it.

Ending your account

You can stop playing at any time and ask us to delete your account through Help & support. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Deleting an account removes its progress and anything bought for it.

Our content

Bean Baron, its name, art, music, text and code belong to us or our licensors. Don't copy, resell or reuse them outside the game without permission.

Warranty and liability

The game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost progress or virtual items, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if you paid nothing. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.

Apps from Apple's App Store

If you play the iOS app, these terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for the app or its support, has no warranty obligation beyond refunding the purchase price where applicable, and isn't responsible for claims about the app (such as product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them.
